Dinner can be pretty chaotic in this house. Pretty much like every other house with two small children at the table. We have fights every night about how much you HAVE to eat before you can leave the table and I like to think I win more than I lose…OK maybe not but it is getting better. Though they do eat vegetables so I won’t complain about that.
Tonight we were having either mash or rice with mince and vegetables. Everyone eats it even if it doesn’t sound so nice.
Hayden doesn’t like to get his clothes dirty and wet, and tonight managed to tip some water down his pants. So he gets off his chair and takes his pants off and gets up and keeps eating.
Then Mikala gets off her chair (world best copycat!) and says, “I have potato on my pants,” and takes her pants off too.
Then while I have a huge mouthful of rice, hubby stands up and takes his shorts off! The look on the kids face was priceless. But they didn’t say too much and kept eating.
A couple of minutes later Hayden dropped some of his tea on his shirt so then he takes that off…and now I have two copy cats one who is only 3 and a 38 year old who thinks that it is hilarious that having tea in only knickers or jocks is a good idea.
As you can imagine since I am always the responsible one – I was sitting there trying not to choke on my dinner, be serious and not laugh at the shenanigans and ended up with tears streaming down my face.
I gave up on tea and sent them all to the bath and shower!

Hope the blinds were down! And thank god you were dining at home!

lol Hubby actually said to me he hoped no-one knocked on the door! Hayden has improved but he used to end up naked at tennis when he got dirty or wet!
Hehehe, families are bizarre things!
They are aren’t they?
I had such a great chuckle at this, dinner here is crazy time too.
Great that I made you laugh, I would love to eat my meal one time and not have to get up to fix something up!
Our kids shower before dinner, and I never bother putting them in their pjs till after dinner – easier to keep clean that way!
thats why we always shower after dinner! Not worth the time and washing for more clothes!
How funny!
I would like to pass back to you the Liebster award

At least it was a good cry! That is so funny.

This made me smile…ANYTHING can happen at the dinner table!
Love making people smile…and welcome Kate xx
hahaha I love it! I can imagine the look on the kids faces!!
Just thinking about the way they looked at their Dad makes me chuckle to myself! Tonights dinner was much more civilised and ‘normal’!
Haha, I just love those moments when all you can do is just laugh! A lovely post that has got me smiling =)
I think this is just gorgeous and I love a man that can get all silly with the kids. Laughing is my most fave thing in the world – I so want to come to your place for dinner.
xx
Haha! That’s hilarious! I wish I’d been a fly on the wall. Then again, with all that show of underwear…maybe not
