Empowering Women

Today I headed half an hour up the highway with a friend to the Liebe Women’s Field Day. The day is all about inspiring and empowering women in the rural area in which we live. There was an agribusiness focus but also a family focus as well. The Liebe Group is an agricultural group who state they “are working together to improve rural profitability, lifestyle and natural resources.” The Women’s Field Day is one way of encouraging and recognising that women are major contributors to the agricultural industry.

The Liebe Group

At this time of year many of my friends are juggling children and commitments while their partners are sitting atop tractors for hours at a time. (Many of these women take their turn as well!) They may also be working whether at home or out of the home and like the women that organised the Field Day today volunteering in many ways. As a resource these women are tremendously important to our communities.

So not only in the small towns like I live in or in your big city neighbourhood you can become involved in something you are passionate about and empower yourself. After today I feel motivated to keep blogging and communicating with my readers. It has provided me with a wider network of women (and a few men) to use for support and a chat about what is happening in my life which may be reflected in my readers lives.
